Drag thumbnail previews to reorder pages
Everything is processed locally in your browser; your file is never uploaded. With many pages, generating preview thumbnails may take a little while — thanks for your patience.
This tool changes the order of pages inside a PDF. After you choose a file it renders a thumbnail for every page, and you move pages one position at a time with the left and right arrows under each thumbnail. When the order looks right, click Save in new order to download a new PDF with the pages rearranged. Besides reordering, each thumbnail can be duplicated or deleted, and the exported PDF follows your edited list. It cannot rotate pages or merge several files; for those, use the other PDF tools on this site.
The following comes from an actual test with the same PDF library (pdf-lib). We built a three-page test file in which pages 1 and 2 are portrait at 595 by 842 points and page 3 is landscape at 842 by 595. Then we copied the pages in the order 3, 1, 2. The new document had page sizes of 842 by 595, 595 by 842 and 595 by 842 in that order. So the pages did follow the requested order, and each kept its own size; the landscape page was not turned into portrait. If your original is cover, contents, body and you want the contents ahead of the cover, you only need to click ◀ once on the contents thumbnail.
No. The tool only changes the order of pages and leaves their content alone. If page numbers are printed on the pages, they travel with the pages, so shuffled pages will show shuffled numbers. If you need to renumber, use the PDF page numbers tool on this site afterwards.
To keep rendering fast, thumbnails are drawn small. They exist only to help you recognise each page. The saved file uses the original pages, so quality is not reduced by this.
It should be close to the original but is not guaranteed to match. The pages are copied into a new document together with the fonts and images they use, and content in the original that no page refers to is not carried over, so the result is sometimes a little smaller. We did not run a size comparison across files, so we make no claim about how much it changes.
Yes. The tool deals only with page order and does not care whether a page contains text or an image. As long as the file opens normally, you can reorder it.
The file you choose is processed only inside your browser. The previews are made by a PDF rendering component bundled with the site and the saving is done by the bundled pdf-lib component, and the page contains no code that uploads your file. The new PDF is downloaded straight to your device. Nothing is kept once you refresh or close the page. For sensitive documents, delete the downloaded copy when you have finished.
