Estimate retirement age under the latest policy
This retirement age calculator applies China's gradual retirement-age increase, in force since 1 January 2025, to your date of birth and employee category. It estimates your statutory retirement age, how many months it has been delayed, your expected retirement date and how long remains until then. It covers the core of the published rules for three groups: men (formerly 60), women in management or technical roles (formerly 55) and women in manual worker roles (formerly 50). It is not an official determination by the social security authority. It does not handle hazardous-work early retirement, disability retirement or flexible retirement, and it does not estimate your pension. Use the result to plan ahead, and when you actually retire, rely on what your local human resources and social security office confirms.
These results come from running the tool's own rules. Example one, a man born 1975-06-01: original retirement date 2035-06-01, delay 32 months, statutory age 62 years 8 months, expected date 2038-02-01. Example two, a woman in a management or technical role born 1970-03-15: original date 2025-03-15, which falls in the very first cohort, delay 1 month, statutory age 55 years 1 month, expected date 2025-04-15. Example three, a woman in a manual worker role born 1980-09-10: original date 2030-09-10, delay 35 months, statutory age 52 years 11 months, expected date 2033-08-10. A man born 1960-01-01 reaches 60 on 2020-01-01, before the policy began, so his delay is 0 months. These are demonstrations of the calculation, not an official ruling for anyone.
It depends on your retirement age before the policy: if it was 55 (usually management, administrative or technical staff), choose the management/technical option, and if it was 50 (usually manual workers), choose the worker option. How an employer classifies 'cadre' and 'worker' status can vary. If you are unsure, run both and then confirm with your HR department or social security office.
If your original retirement date falls before 1 January 2025, meaning you reached the old statutory age before the new policy started, the delay does not apply and the tool shows 0 months. The expected retirement date then equals the original date.
No. It is an estimate from published rules. It does not read your personnel file, contribution record or occupation classification, and it cannot account for special circumstances. The timing and conditions of retirement are decided by your local human resources and social security office, so use the tool only as a planning reference.
No. Pension depends on contribution years, contribution base, local average wages, personal account balance and more, none of which this tool handles. It answers one question only: when you reach the statutory retirement age.
Your birth date and category are used only in your browser. The tool's code sends nothing to a server and stores nothing in local storage. After a refresh the inputs go back to their defaults.
